Liberty Boxers Thought's on the

WHITE BOXER.

I think the white boxers are stunning and make wonderful pets.

As for my thought on them well I would have no problems owning one as a PET. It would have to be s/n. So their would be no oooppps here.  I have seen white boxer who are perfectly health have colored puppies that when they hit around six month of age started having major genetic problems.

I would never put a pup down just because it was white. I believe everything has a purpose and would do my very best to find the perfect home for the puppy, even if that means he/she would stay here at Liberti Boxers. The white pups are treated just the same as a colored pup. Just recently the American Boxer Club changed the code a bit where white puppies can be AKC reg. on limited reg. As I said they would be pet's so they would be sold as pets on a s/n contract and they would have limited reg. though the AKC because I think the AKC should have an correct count on them.

Here at Liberti Boxers we have had one deaf white puppy. She is doing great, and is extremely smart. She has learn hand signals and is passing puppy classes with flying colors. We are so proud of her.

If you are looking for a white puppy please make sure the breeder has their white puppies hearing tested.

One of the major things I have been seeing on the net is "rare" white boxers. I don't believe that to be true.  If you breed flashy to flashy you have a higher possibility of getting white pups. It's just simply genetics.

Liberti Boxers: We are white boxer friendly! I just love the above picture of one of our white puppies.

1. White Boxers are not born sickly! Their is a high rate of deafness in the white boxer because of the lack of pigment in the ears.

2. White Boxers are not rare!

A lot of white Boxers are just not being registered, and just placed in loving homes. White Boxers are often advertised in the local papers or on the internet as "rare" or "hard to find".  Don't be fooled! This is one reason I think that white puppies should be reg. on limited reg. of course. They deserve to be counted too!

3.  Some breeders discourage any type of registration with A.K.C.
A.K.C. will registar a white Boxer, but they should ONLY be reg. on limited reg. All Boxers no matter what color should be counted.

4. About 20% of Boxers births are white, of that 20%, only about 12% are deaf or blind.
The "white" gene comes from the flashy gene in Boxers, which is a recessive gene.

5. Solid white Boxers are not albinos. If they have pigment. Any small spot on their body, brindle or fawn they are referred to as checked or parti colored. They’re not albino.

6. Deaf Boxers are easily trained to read sign language. Dogs of any kind are only as dumb as the owner lets them be.  I truly believe this. I have learned in my training dogs that it really isn't the dog that needs the training but the owner that need direction.

7. White Boxers can be  registered with A.K.C. There are some breeders that believe in giving no registration or  limited registration. I believe they should be AKC limited reg. so they get counted! But NOT fully reg. I also believe they should be spayed and neutered by 8 months old.

8. White Boxers make excellent  pets and companions, loving other animals and children the same as any other Boxer.

9. Although they can't be shown in the conformation ring. They can be shown in Agility and Obedience, and do quite well... if trained properly. Just like any other color.

10. White boxers can live a healthy and productive life; the same as there litter mates of color.

11. A few breeders just take it upon themselves to cull or put down white pups at birth.  Here at Liberti Boxers we treat out white pups the same as the colored. We are white Boxer Friendly!!

132. White Boxers  may have a tendency to be more sensitive to the sunlight. But not all of them are sensitive to sunlight. You should never leave any Boxer out in the sun all day.
They have the same personalities as any other Boxer.
